Table Tennis The table (playing area) must be 2.74 m long, 1.525 cm wide and 76 cm high. The thickness of the table is not calculated as a part of the playing area. The surface can be manufactured from any material but must, according to the rules, ensure that the ball can bounce around 23 cm when dropped from a height of 30 cm. The playing surface shall be uniformly dark colored and matt with a white side line, 2 cm wide, along each 2.74 m edge and a white end line, 2 cm wide, along each 1.525 cm edge. The playing surface is divided into 2 equal courts by a vertical net running parallel with the end lines and is 1.525 cm wide. Both courts should be one-piece. For doubles, each court shall be divided into 2 equal half-courts by a 3-mm wide white center line, running parallel with the side lines. For both courts, the center line is accepted as a part of the right half-court.

In singles, the server must first make a good service, the receiver shall then make a good return and thereafter server and receiver alternately try to return the ball to the other half. In doubles, the server makes a good service, the receiver then makes a good return. This is then repeated by the doubles partners and the game continues.Table tennis develops practitioners' concentration, decision-making, agility, observation, coordination and balance skills.
